The early rays of sunshine had hardly even broken through on the outside. To early. Not really a morning person but today it didn’t really matter. Today it was finally time. Everything that I had worked so hard for the last six months with selling the house and sorting all practical arrangements. Giving up the security of every day life just to fulfill a dream that I have had every since I was a little boy. To travel around the world. When I was six I got an earth globe for Christmas. The first thing I did was spin it around to see what was on the other side. Australia and New Zealand. I realized that dream a few years ago when I got to spend 2 months down under. Hands down one of the best experiences ever. I have longed for a long tip ever since. Making small, weeklong trips just don’t cut it. Not if you are a traveller by nature. So being able to go away for about a year is a rare opportunity. A hard decision on one hand because you give up a lot at home, but on the other hand there was really no doubt. Opportunities like this don’t come around more than a few times in your life.

But in the end we are rewarded for the hard choices we do and so will I eventually. It’s not easy to sell your life and give it up for the freedom of travel, but now is finally the time to throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
